Summary:
Advanced trails are physically challenging, demanding, and technically difficult. They will include several technical sections. Possibility of trail sections to have walk through only portions. Advanced trails are recommended for riders with great bike balance, and previous MTB riding exposure.
Category: Trails
Advanced trails are designated with signage portraying a single or double black diamond. These trails are for advanced and expert riders. Expect steep up and down sections, large drops, jumps, rocky shelf climbs, off-camber single track, and rocky features with narrow exposed cliff sections. Bike handling skills are a necessity along with the strength and endurance to complete the trail. A caveat in regard to trail ratings – and Moab trail ratings in general – is that the difficulty of a trail is an overall trail rating. Meaning in the instance of an advanced or expert trail the majority of the difficulty is suitable for advanced and expert riders while certain segments and sections of the trail can and most likely will be slightly more challenging for even the best of riders. Additionally, there will be alternative harder lines including more difficult obstacles and features. When in doubt walk it out.
